THINK-ISRAEL

EFFECTIVE RESPONSES TO THE 'THIRD INTIFADA'

Pro-Israel steps call for strong measures

In the Israel-Arab relationship, Israel is the battered partner.

"President" Abbas kills Jews, steals hundreds of millions of dollars, names streets after murderers of Jews, supports families of killed terrorists, and foments anti-Jews and anti-Judaism and anti-Israel hatred in the Arab-language press, in Arab elementary schools, and in Arab secondary schools. The government of Israel deals with "President" Abbas, despite the battering.

It's high time for Israel to leave its Israel-Arab battered-partner relationship. The prerequisite is the discovery, by Prime Minister Netanyahu, the compromiser/appeaser/UN speech-maker, of his inner Captain Netanyahu, the fearless, battle-hardened leader of an elite unit.

Pro-Israel steps include the construction of housing for Jews throughout Judea and Samaria.

Pro-Israel steps include the shooting, on sight, of an Arab who possesses a knife or a stone in public.

Self-defense is insufficiently exercised, when the government of Israel responds to an attack by an Arab against a Jew by blowing up an Arab-owned house, as if an irreplaceable life of a Jew is equivalent of a rebuildable structure.

The proper response to an Arab attack against a Jew, in a market section of Jerusalem, for example, is a sortie by IDF helicopter gunships in a market section of an Arab town. Teach Arabs, the UN, the EU, and the OIC, the post-Shoah lesson: Jewish lives don't come cheap.

The world will condemn Israeli retaliation, of whichever degree or kind, for an attack by an Arab against a Jew. So what? The world condemns Israel, for everything done or not done by it, anyway.

Other pro-Israel steps which the government of Israel must take:

Accept the statement of "President" Abbas, in his speech before the United Nations General Assembly (9/25/2015), that the Oslo Accords are dead. Necessarily, the "Palestinian Authority," created by the accords, is dead. So is the Area A, Area B, and Area C nonsense.

Resume direct control of all Judea and all Samaria. It is not possible for Israel to assert Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria, because Arabs will propagandize Israeli sovereignty there as a bestowal of Israeli citizenship upon the Arabs resident in Judea and Samaria. Israel needs more Arab citizens, the way a wooden house needs more termites.

Declare that there is no "Arab Palestine." Prior to 1948, the term "Palestine" was used exclusively by Jews. Examples: The Palestine Post, the Anglo-Palestine Bank, the Palestine Potash Company. There are no "Palestinians" who are Arabs. They are an imaginary people, invented after the 1967 war, through the usurpation by Arabs of the Jewish term "Palestine." Arabs within Israel, who are not Israeli citizens, are, simply, Arabs resident in Israel.

Declare that there is no "Gaza strip." In a territorial context, the term "strip" means land which is different politically from surrounding land. Aza (not "Gaza") is a part of Israel, not separate from Israel.

Declare that there are no "settlers" in Judea and Samaria. There are Jews who are domiciled, of right, in Judea and Samaria, which are within the ancestral Jewish homeland. Other parts of the ancestral Jewish homeland are the Golan Heights, Sheba'a Farms, the central hills, the coastal plain (which extends through Aza), the Negev, Eilat, and all in-between places and adjacent places.

It is Moslem doctrine that land conquered by Moslems always is land wherein Islam is to hold sway. For a Moslem, that conquered land can never be changed into non-Islam land.

Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. The government of Israel must declare the doctrine of once Jewish land, always Jewish land.

Thus, based on the Bible, the Land of Israel includes all of the Holy Land, as promised by God to Abraham and his descendants.

Also based on the Bible, the Land of Israel includes, west and east of the Kinnereth Sea, the River Jordan, and the Sea of Salt, the territories of the Amorites, Bashanites, Amalekites, Edomites, Moabites, and Midianites, conquered by the Israelites.

Further based on the Bible, the Land of Israel includes the lands, east of the Kinnereth Sea and east of the River Jordan, allotted by Moses to the tribe of Reuvain, the tribe of Gad, and part of the tribe of Menae, respectively.

Additionally based on the Bible, the Land of Israel includes Jerusalem, conquered by David from the Jebusites. Within Jerusalem are the City of David and the Temple Mount.

Based on the kingdom of King David and King Solomon, the Land of Israel includes the chunk of southern Lebanon which is within 20 miles of the present Israel-Lebanon border, and eastern Syria. Much of the territory of the David-Solomon kingdom was held by the Maccabbees.

Based on the Balfour Declaration (1917), the San Remo Conference (1920), and British Mandatory Palestine as established by the League of Nations (1922), the Land of Israel includes Israel and Jordan.

The armistice agreements made after the War of Independence (1948—1949) do not delineate the Land of Israel.

Based on the Suez War (1956), the Land of Israel includes the Sinai.

Based on the Six-Day War (1967), the Land of Israel includes the Golan Heights, the Sheba'a Farms, Samaria, Judea, Aza, Jerusalem, and the Sinai.

Based on the Yom Kippur War (1973), the Land of Israel includes the Sinai, and the land west of the Suez Canal, from Ismailia to Ras Adabiya, taken by the Israeli army.

Ideally, a Sanhedrin, not the Waqf, should be in charge of the Temple Mount.

A Sanhedrin should permit Jews only on the Temple Mount, or near it. Compare Jordan, which, between 1949 and 1967, excluded Jews from the Temple Mount and its Western Wall.

A Sanhedrin would ignore the pretense that the Temple Mount is sacred to Moslems, whose "religion" (which is actually a militant totalitarianism) was cobbled, and inflicted on the world, centuries after Abraham went with Isaac to Mount Moriah, and sacrificed the ram there, centuries after David conquered Jerusalem, centuries after the First Temple was built on the Temple Mount, and centuries after the Second Temple was built on the Temple Mount.

Eric Hoffer wrote, in "Israel's Peculiar Position," Los Angeles Times (5/26/1968), "The Jews are alone in the world. If Israel survives, it will be solely because of Jewish efforts. And Jewish resources."

The third intifada will end only when the government of Israel is serious about ending it.
